Seal College has been operating for more than 17 years and caters for learners with varying intellectual disabilities including Down syndrome and Autism. Our mandate is to provide affordable education and adult training for intellectually challenged people in our community. The education provided is specialised and individually tailored to each person’s abilities and needs.
Our workshop, Seals @ Work provides young adults with light work and training. The emphasis of the workshop program is to offer our young adults an opportunity to participate in the open job market and play a meaningful role in society.
We are able to provide the following services: packaging (bagging, shrinks wrapping, blister packing, skin packaging, boxing). Assembly (simple), marketing and public relations services in the way of collating, stuffing and sorting mailings and the packing of Goody Bags for any event. Our aim is to establish contracts with local businesses in line with their Corporate Social Investment Policy. Our ideal is to be able to become financially sustainable through our workshop services. The school, Seal College, provides pre-primary and primary learners with an individualised program using the Hawaiian Program for intellectually disabled children. We are constantly striving to keep abreast using the latest and best international standards and support. Seal College is registered with the Department of Education as an Independent Special Needs School.
As a registered NPO and PBO, we receive no Government Funding and are constantly seeking innovative ways to fundraise
